The Port Authority of Jamaica welcomed the Carnival Breeze at its inaugural call to the Historic Port of Falmouth on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. It is the third and last dream-class ship, with sister ships, Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic. Dream-class vessels are the largest passenger ships ever built for Carnival Cruise Lines, which is the largest cruise company in the world.

Carnival Breeze and her sisters have the widest variety of activity, dining, and entertainment options of the entire fleet. The vessel has a half-mile exterior promenade, cantilevered whirlpools, and a 23,750 sq ft (2,206 m2) wellness facility. Other features are the Water Works Aqua Park with a 300-foot (91 m)-long corkscrew water slide called Twister and another called The Drainpipe, an indoor/outdoor café with live entertainment venue called Ocean Plaza, and a range of staterooms, including deluxe ocean views with two bathrooms, some of which have five berths.

The vessel carries 3,646 passengers at double occupancy and it has a maximum capacity of 4,631 passengers and 1,367 crew.
