Furniture and appliance retail giant Courts Jamaica has forged an exclusive partnership with Ashley Furniture Industries, one of the largest manufacturers of furniture in the world. Known for its range of luxurious and comfortable furniture, Courts Jamaica officially launched its exclusive Ashley Furniture Gallery at its Courts Liguanea store on Wednesday.

The gallery will bring a new retail concept, which showcases the company's fashionable approach to home design. The relaxed format with artistically styled display will make it easier for customers to browse an eclectic array, as well as the company's new 'take home' accessories, which include lamps, beds in the bag, pillows, vases, and much more.

regional partnership

According to Mario Guerrero, chief executive officer of Courts Caribbean, the Unicomer Group was honoured to have been chosen by Ashley Furniture Industries Inc to enter into a regional partnership to provide Caribbean consumers with a unique furniture shopping experience.

"We have been long-time partners with Ashley, and we look forward to building and strengthening this relationship in the coming years. Ashley is an industry leader in bringing great styles at great values, and combined with their international trade and global logistics, we are now able to bring the very latest furniture styles to our customers," Guerrero said.

Courts is the first retailer in the Caribbean to set up Ashley Furniture Gallery with 14 across the retail chain in the region - two of which are in Jamaica at Courts Liguanea, St Andrew, and Courts Bogue, Montego Bay.

natural progression

Courts Managing Director Dennis Harris said the partnership between Courts and Ashley was a natural progression since the line was first introduced in the stores in 2011. "Courts is and has always been committed to consistently improving our service offerings to consumers, moving with the changing times to meet the growing demands of our customers, and we believe that the addition of the galleries is a step in the right direction," Harris said.

Ashley Furniture is a vertically integrated company that focuses on the details to provide the best furniture values, with the goal of developing a strong relationship with their global retail partners to make them successful.

"There has been a tremendous amount of work and effort put forth by organisations for the Ashley Gallery over the last several months. On behalf of our 23,000 associates worldwide, Ashley looks forward to a bright future in Jamaica," said Chuck Sprang, president of international sales and operations at Ashley Furniture.
