Arnett Gardens Football Club yesterday parted company with head coach Max Straw, a day after the team was beaten 2-1 by bottom-placed Village United in the Cash Plus League.

Arnett gains second place with 15 points behind leaders Tivoli Gardens with 21points.

Straw joined Arnett at the start of this season, after working as assistant coach at Harbour View, which won the title last season.

He had replaced Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey, who returned to Tivoli Gardens.

The departure of Straw sees the return of Jerome Waite.

Waite coached the team to its most successful stint in recent years with back-to-back titles in the 2000 to 2001 and the 2001 to 2002 seasons.

Assistant coach Michael Tulloch and physical trainer Michael Brady are also out.

Former captains Byron Earlie and Eugene Barnes have replaced Tulloch and Brady.
