The Editor, Sir:
Through this medium, I am begging the member of parliament, Delroy Chuck, to get the road at Hope Mews off Hope Road repaired. This road is only a few chains long with one small townhouse complex and has been in a deplorable condition for many, many years.
The residents and I have spoken to the MP many times and have gone on radio talkshows and complained but, to date, nothing has been done. Marley Road, which is less than one chain from Hope Mews, along with other surrounding roads in the area, have been repaired periodically, even when they are in good condition compared to Hope Mews.
A few months ago when I spoke to Mr Chuck, he told me that there was no money to repair the road and that Hope Mews was the responsibility of the KSAC. We all pay taxes to the same government and, in addition to previous taxation for road repairs, there is a new tax on gasolene, specifically for roads.
The KSAC is a government body and, therefore, we expect our MP to make representation on our behalf. For Mr Chuck to tell us that Hope Mews is not his responsibi-lity is just not good enough.
