After a pep talk with Jamaica's top female circuit racer, Natasha Chang, last Sunday, contestants in the Miss Jamaica World 2014 contest, got behind the wheel and showed off their go-karting skills at the Palisadoes International Raceway, Kingston.
Racing against the clock, the beauties all used the same go-kart one after the other, lap after lap, amassing critical points in the competition's fast-track segment. At the end of the day, it was Toni Oliver, Regina Harding and Shanna-Kay Ellis, who finished in the top-three positions, respectively.
It was one of several fast-track events for the beauties, who had their hands full trying to manoeuvre on the challenging go-kart track. At one stage, the contestants with the 12 best times were split into two groups of six, before the top three were named. The karts were provided by Peter Rae Motorsports.
