Members of the Jamaica Football Referees’ Association, JFRA, have withdrawn their services from matches organised by the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association.
The decision was taken after referee Shane Harrison was hit unconscious with an object on Saturday.
The incident took place after a Super League game between Constant Spring and Elletson Flat at the University of the West Indies field.
Harrison received five stitches to his mouth.
JFRA president, Peter Prendergast says the referees are upset because members of the clubs refused to restrain the person involved.
KSAFA president Stewart Stephenson says his association will meet with the referees this afternoon.
