South Africa’s top prosecutor says there is enough evidence to charge the new leader of the governing party with corruption.
Jacob Zuma was elected leader of the African National Congress on Tuesday. The charges against Zuma relate to a controversial arms deal.
One of Mr. Zuma’s advisers has been jailed for 15 years in connection with that incident.
The acting head of the National Prosecuting Authority, said the final decision on when to take action against Zuma is imminent.
