St. Lucia’s Prime Minister Stephenson King says the next task of his ruling United Workers Party is to settle its political leadership.
His comments follow the swearing-in of the party’s newest parliamentarian, Janine Compton-Rambally.
She won a by-election in the Micoud North constituency following the death of her father Sir John Compton.
The Prime Minister said his party would gather early in January to appoint a new political leader to replace Sir John who died on September 7.
Since Sir John’s death, Mr. King has been serving as Prime Minister and Party Chairman.
However, the issue of political leadership in the party remains unsettled.
