Four of the five West Indies players who were named in Jamaica’s squad for the Stanford 20/20 opening game were omitted yesterday.



Team Manager Milton Henry said the players were withdrawn from the squad as a precautionary measure.



Darren Powell, Brenton Parchment, Marlon Samuels and Jerome Taylor are scheduled to arrive from South Africa on February 5, only a day before Jamaica’s opening encounter against Bahamas.



Chris Gayle, who is expected to return home earlier, was not omitted from the squad.



Andre Russell has replaced JoWayne Robinson, who was named in the 16-man squad.
