Western Bureau:
Titchfield High belatedly cemented their spot in the daCosta Cup inter-zone round, when they defeated Happy Grove 2-0 in a rescheduled game in Group L yesterday.
Godfrey Stewart also wrapped up group play with a commanding 3-0 win over Manning's in Group D, where Grange Hill and Black River High also played to a 0-0 scoreline.
Godfrey Stewart and Peters-field High are the qualifiers from that group, while Black River, The Manning's School and Grange Hill ended their campaign on six, five and four points, respectively.
Titchfield's victory lifted them to 11 points, two more than the second qualifier from that group, Fair Prospect High (nine). Port Antonio High (eight) and Happy Grove (two) round out the group.
Joel Green-Burke and Ricardo Russell netted in the second half for Titchfield, who will now look to stamp their class on Oracabessa High in tomorrow's start of the inter-zone round.
Also in the group are Zone I runners up Marcus Garvey High and Group K second-place finishers Dinthill.
"It was a routine win today for us," said Titchfield's assistant coach, Oral McKenzie. "We just wanted to end the round on a positive note. Now we turn our attention to the next round and Wednesday's match against Oracabessa.
"We are confident we can win as we look to stake a claim in the Super Cup," McKenzie said.
