Forty-four talented youngsters will square off for the respective prizes and honours in the junior section of the SANTA (Seeing A Need, Taking Action) Charity Golf Tournament which will tee off 9:00 a.m. today at the Constant Spring Golf Club in St Andrew.
Besides being a developmental tourney for them, the respective winners will receive prizes such as electronic devices (tablets, iPods, Xbox, PlayStations) and gift certificates.
The section will accommodate golfers under 17 years old, and across all skill levels.
Those include the 100 yard category for six-year-olds and under, while eight-year-olds and under will contest the 150 yard category.
Ten-year-olds and under will contest the 200 yard category, while a red tees category will be contested by 12-year-olds and older.
There will also be an 18 hole category for 13-17-year-olds.
The adult section will follow tomorrow (Sunday morning) at 7:00 a.m.
It will see considerable representation with a field of 99 participants. They will play a full round of 18 holes competition. They will be competing for the coveted Facey Cup and LED televisions also.
Sunday's noted invitees for the adult section include: Jeffrey Dujon, Lindy Delaphena, Nigel Davey, Wayne Sutherland, Radcliffe Knibbs, Cedric Blair and Winston Watson.
Organisers SANTA have touched lives with some estimated $26 million in cash donations, services, equipment and raw material since its inception in 2001. Those contributions have been made to over 18 charities.
