The St Ann Orchids recorded their first ever victory in the Berger Elite Netball League on Friday night.
They scored a 40-34 win over defending champions Kingston Humming Birds in third-round action at the Leila Robinson Courts.
National representative Shanice Beckford led the way for the Orchids with a game-high 31 goals from 36 attempts, while Thristina Harwood netted 15 of 20 for the Humming Birds, who are yet to register a win this season.
Meanwhile, St James Sharpes are the new leaders of the competition following a narrow 47-46 win over the previously unbeaten Manchester Spurs.
Goal-shooter Deneen Taylor, who was named the game's most valuable player, led the way for the Sharpes with a team-high 34 goals from 37 attempts. She received good support from Jodi-Ann Ffrench, who netted 13 goals from 22 tries. Shantal Slater was the top scorer for the Spurs with 41 goals from 48 attempts.
National player Anna-Kay Griffiths netted a game-high 20 goals to lead last year's beaten finalists St Catherine Racers to a 34-29 win over the Clarendon Gaters in another game on Friday.
