The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has issued a statement in the wake of the arrest of several FIFA officials on allegations of corruption.
Fourteen FIFA officials and corporate executives were indicted by the United States on Wednesday in a major corruption probe.
In the 47-count indictment the United States has alleged that there was bribery, money laundering, corruption and wire fraud conspiracy for more than 20 years amounting to US$150 million.

The Jamaica Football Federation notes with concern the developments within the last 48 hours involving the indictment and the arrest of several football officials including those from the CONCACAF.
JFF President, Captain Horace Burrell, in expressing shock and disbelief has said, "I am extremely disappointed with the whole situation and the negative effect that this is having on the sport globally and regionally."
The JFF has consistently condemned all acts of corruption in the sport, and this case is no different.
The Jamaica Football Federation takes this opportunity to reassure our fellow Jamaicans and Jamaica’s Football loving public, in particular, of our relentless commitment to the various programmes designed toward the continued growth and development of Jamaica’s football.
We wish to thank all concerned for their understanding as we are unable to make any further comments at this time as we await the results of ongoing investigations.
