SIX-FOOT Birmingham City striker Clayton Donaldson is a new man in the Reggae Boyz squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifying football match against Panama at the National Stadium on Friday, beginning at 9 p.m.
Donaldson, who plays for the Championship team, was named in a 20-man Jamaica men's senior national team roster released by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) yesterday afternoon. The release said three more players will be added to the squad.
The striker netted 16 goals for the British-based club last season, and netted a first-half hat-trick against Bristol City on September 12 for his season's goal tally. He has also provided four assists.
Also included in the squad, again, is full back Alvas Powell, who turned his back on the country by walking out on the team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which took place in the United States and Canada.
To date, the JFF is yet to announce a meeting date to sanction the player, as it had said at the time of the walkout.
The player has twice been used by head coach Winfried Schaefer since in WCQ home and away matches against Nicaragua.
Schaefer will not be allowed on the bench for next week's match, having been suspended by FIFA for an infringement with match officials at the conclusion of the Jamaicans' 2-0 away win in Nicaragua. They had lost the first-leg match 3-2 at the National Stadium.
