"Don't wait another day we are ready," declared Denise Daley, the People's National Party (PNP) chairman for Region Four which covers Clarendon and St Catherine, as she addressed hundreds of Comrades at a rally in Portmore, St Catherine.
Thousands of party supporters have descended on the Sunshine City for the rally, which could be the last one before PNP president and Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller announces the date for the 17th general election.
It was not only Daley who was in election mode.
Natalie Neita Headley, the North Central St Catherine MP, urged Simpson Miller to call it.
"We have done the work," she said.
"Anytime you ready call it and when you call it we are going to make sure North Central St Catherine and Region Four come home and we will win it for the People's National Party," she said.
She also said the massive Portmore crowd represents the largest endorsement of the PNP in its four public rallies to date.
Speaker after speaker talked up their chances of winning even Morris Grant who is to face Olivia Babsy Grange in the safe JLP territory of Central St Catherine was confident.
Grant, who jumped from the JLP ship said he was comfortable in the PNP.
"I should have been here since I was born," he said.
"Join me with my family ... Let us take Spanish Town from the bondage of the JLP," he said.
