The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) opened its mass rally in Richmond, St Mary Sunday with a swipe at Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller for her pronouncement that she is awaiting the Master's beckoning to call the election.
No sooner had the early evening music ceased to make way for opening prayers than the "holy war " began.
"Dem a wait pon God but we have him all the time," declared the man who had been asked to say prayers.
This appeared to be what supporters who had been braved the inclement weather to make to their way the township square wanted to hear as the cheers went up.
"Dem a wait pon a special word from God but we hear from Him everyday," he added.
Continued the 'prayer warrior': "I know that the God that we serve not going to give us more than we can bear, so anytime, they call it, St. Mary will be delivered."
