The Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation has announced special prices for children 12 years and younger in the gold and silver sections of the 2016 Shaggy & Friends concert on Saturday, January 2.
Children's tickets for the gold section cost $6,500, while the silver section costs $3,250. Children are allowed in both the platinum and diamond areas, but there is no special pricing for them in these sections.
"There are so many kids who want to come. I have friends who talk to me about it every year. We get tons of email and questions through our social media about this, so we knew it was something that was good to bring back for this staging," Rebecca Packer said.
Packer, who is the foundation's executive director, said that the Shaggy & Friends concert is always a family-friendly event, adding that portions of the concert are also streamed to the children at the Bustamante Hospital for Children, the organisation that benefits from the proceeds of the event.
The fifth staging of the Shaggy & Friends concert is set for the lawns of Jamaica House, Hope Road, St Andrew. The performers include OMI, Nelly, En Vogue, Beenie Man, Ashanti, Ding Dong, Bugle and Popcaan.
There are four categories - diamond ($35,000), platinum ($23,000), gold ($12,500) and silver ($6,500). Tickets for the event have already gone on sale and are available islandwide. Ticket outlets include the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, Liguanea Drug and Garden, Cannonball, Chocolate Dreams (Loshushan and Devon House), Fromage, Fontana Pharmacy, General Foods (Ocho Rios), and Music Mart.
Diamond tickets are only available at the Jamaica Pegasus.
