Three illegal firearms were seized in different sections of the island yesterday, bringing the total number of guns seized to 23 under the Get The Guns campaign since the start of the year.

The police say a Smith and Wesson revolver and two cartridges were seized yesterday afternoon in Penfield district, Gordon Town, St Andrew.

A pistol and three rounds of ammunition were seized in a second incident yesterday afternoon during an operation in Granville, Falmouth, Trelawny.

The other gun was seized in Back Bush, Morant Bay in St Thomas yesterday evening. In that incident, the police recovered an AK-47 assault rifle.

The police say no one was arrested in connection with these seizures.
