First Global Bank (FGB) has opened a new branch in Ocho Rios, joining its Montego Bay location in serving customers on the northern part of the island. With the opening of this new branch, FGB will provide individuals and businesses in Ocho Rios and its environs with a full suite of financial services, powered by the latest in banking technology and with a focus on convenience. Arlene Williams, a local banking executive with deep roots in the community, will lead the new branch.
"We are so happy to be in Ocho Rios, and we look forward to meeting our new clients and providing personalised advice based on each client's unique needs," said Williams.
Located in Soni's Plaza in the business district along Main Street, features include a video teller machine (VTM) - interactive technology that allows customers to connect with a remote teller in a highly personalised, two-way audio/video interaction. This is the second such machine in the Caribbean, the first having been recently introduced at FGB's new Manor Park branch last December.
The VTM allows live tellers at FGB's teller centre to interact with customers inside the Ocho Rios branch and complete up to 95 per cent of transactions that would usually be handled by tellers at counters. The VTM will be open between 7 a.m and 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The branch's opening hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
Along with the VTM, the new branch will feature a multi-currency dispenser and an intelligent deposit ATM which will give customers access to a suite of automated services that will take convenience to another level.
The multi-currency dispenser will allow customers to withdraw Jamaican, Canadian and United States currencies from their accounts. This feature allows FGB customers to execute cross-currency transactions, conveniently buying the offered currencies at the daily exchange rate. The intelligent deposit ATM will recognise and validate inserted notes for immediate cash deposits, without the hassle of a deposit slip or envelope.
