The Electoral Office of Jamaica is seeking permission to have nearly 1,000 schools closed at midday on February 24, the day before the general election.
The ECJ says the names of the schools have been sent to the Education Ministry which will give the final approval.

Fisher says the EOJ will set up 39 polling stations across the island.
He also says the ECJ will employ some 20,000 Election Day workers for the February 25 polls.
