Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Winston De La Haye says he expects to receive additional Zika test results by the end of the week.
So far the number of confirmed Zika virus cases in Jamaica remain at five.
However, Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton says the Ministry is expecting additional Zika cases when samples taken from persons suspected to be infected with the virus are returned.
The health minister says the ministry has sent off 300 samples to be tested for the virus.
Tufton says the results of 145 samples are yet to be received.
He says it is being anticipated that some of those samples will return positive results.
De La Haye says in the meantime, the Health Ministry will continue to search for and destroy mosquito breeding sites especially in communities from which the positive samples came.
