Sagicor Foundation recently launched its 2016 Adopt-A-School programme at the Hilton Hotel in Montego Bay.
Regional coordinator, Early Childhood Commission, Viola Frazer, was guest speaker, and Sagicor executives, branch managers, teachers and students were present. The programme has been a part of the company's corporate social responsibility portfolio dating back to the early '80s.
The programme brings together Sagicor Bank, Sagicor Life, Sagicor Investments collaborating to help early childhood institutions in need. It is expected to serve more than 10 schools and more than 1,000 students. The first set of activities will begin on Labour Day, with several Sagicor branch managers and team volunteers across the island. Another set of activities will begin later in the year focusing on back to school and child wellness.
The participating schools are: Plantation Heights Basic School, Salmon Basic School, Fyffes Pen Early Childhood Institution, Kemps Hill Basic School, Sandy Park Basic School, Dunrobin Early Childhood Institution, Clarion Basic School, Campden Early Childhood Development Centre, Allman Town Infant School, and Central Branch Infant School.
