The state minister with responsibility for works says his ministry is moving to ensure roads identified for patching by the National Works Agency are completed within 48 hours.
During his contribution to the Sectoral Debates yesterday, Everald Warmington said many times roads selected for patching take weeks to be repaired, resulting in further damage to the roadways and inconvenience to the public.

Warmington said his ministry will provide each constituency with $1 million from the Road Maintenance Fund to do speedy patchwork on roadways across the island.
Meanwhile, Warmington said his ministry will be reducing the time taken to pay persons contracted to do routine road maintenance work.
He said effective immediately contractors will be paid within two weeks once the required road work is completed.
