Portland:
In three violent incidents that have rocked the usually peaceful parish of Portland, one man has been shot and killed, another is suffering from gunshot wounds, and a woman was raped at gunpoint.
In the first incident, the body of an unidentified man was found with gunshot wounds yesterday morning at Snow Hill in the parish.
According to the police, at about 1:30 a.m., they were summoned to Snow Hill, where the body of a male was found lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.
The lawmen said that the body is about 5ft 6 inches tall, of dark complexion, clad in a brown shorts, red slippers, and blue shirt. A tattoo is on the left shoulder. The man had a low-cut hairstyle.
This brings the numbers of murders committed in Portland to five since the start of 2016.
In the second incident, also in Snow Hill, a male resident, who is also a licensed firearm holder, reportedly woke up to find a man standing in his bedroom with a gun and making threatening demands.
The resident pulled his firearm from under a pillow and a shootout ensued.
During the exchange, the resident was reportedly shot three times in the leg. The gunman then made his escape, leaving behind a trail of blood, which the police believe is as a result of him being shot.
In the third incident, a woman was reportedly held up at gunpoint by a man while making her way home shortly after midnight.
The woman was allegedly raped and robbed of an undermined sum of money.
