What makes summers so special? Have you ever noticed that some of your most lasting memories are made over these sweltering months?
Summers conjure up feelings of excitement, fun, and frolic, 'the great escape' through vacations, music festivals, backyard barbecues, road trips, amusement parks, and casual dining with friends. We are blessed to live in a country where every day can be a vacation, where we can gather friends anywhere and it instantly becomes a celebration.
Summer style is easy, breezy, and fun and doesn't require much thinking. But as any real fashionista knows, even effortless chic requires a bit of effort. Today, we look at some never-fail tips when dressing for any summertime celebration.
Shot on location at the new hot spot eatery SORA Japanese Sky Cuisine, which has been generating a buzz for their roof top dining, offering views of the city and featuring an Asian fusion cuisine. Open for lunch and d inner, 11:30 to 11:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and they keep the doors open till midnight on Saturdays.
For summer, always err on the side of colour. Use colour to inject vibrancy into your wardrobe. Use accessories sparingly, or go bold with tone-on-tone bright hues. This is not the time to go sombre or understated in fashion. Save that for the cooler months ahead. Even the mere choice of nail polish becomes a big deal to maximise the vibrant colours of summer.
Let's face it. When does denim ever go out of style? Never! Whether it's casual or dressy
casual, the humble blue denim is the wardrobe staple every woman should own. Style icon Marilyn Monroe made relaxed boyfriend jeans look casual but still feminine when she paired it with a crisp cotton shirt. Shown here, we have added some spunk to high-waist denims with an embroidery detail cropped top and neon shoes. Pair short shorts with a loose cotton blouse featuring an aztec design, and complete the edgy look with statement shoes.
Nothing says summer like an all-white ensemble. It's crisp, timeless, and whispers freshness. Looks even better with sun-kissed tan and bronzed make-up. Here, a sleeveless sheath dress is paired with white single-sole heels.
Prints energise a wardrobe and instantly lift the spirits. There's a print for every taste, ranging from animal, to tribal, to
graphic, to floral, to tie-die or classic stripes just to name a few.
