Former National Reggae Boyz assistant coach, Miguel Coley, has broken his silence on his recent departure from the coaching staff of the national senior men's team.
While disappointed with his axing from the Reggae Boyz coaching staff, the Jamaica College Manning Cup coach believes his "work is not yet done," and remains "committed to producing players for the national team.
The 34-year-old, whose playing career was cut short because of injury in 2005, was drafted as assistant national head coach by German Winfried Schaefer.
"The sky is definitely the limit, I back myself and push myself every single time and keep on putting in the work. At the same time you have to be producing players again for the National team so the work is never done," he said in an interview with The Gleaner following JC's 3-1 win over Eltham High on Wednesday.
"I have to support whoever is in charge at this point in time and wish them all the best," the outgoing assistant coach added.
At JC, Coley's charges have consistently peaked and played their best football at the business end of the season, winning trophy after trophy each year.
The highlight of his career came last year when Jamaica finished CONCACAF Gold Cup runners-up to Mexico.
This was, however, followed by a failed 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
According to Coley he is not sure about what, if any, future role he will play in the national programme at this point in time, adding: "What I know is I am no longer the assistant coach of the Reggae Boyz."
