The previously unranked Darren Richards produced the most surprising result, finishing an amazing second at the third and final leg of the National Street Gun Championship at the Manchester Rifle and Pistol Club's Lincoln Range last weekend.
Club president and its highest ranked shooter, Orville Henriques predictably won the tournament, making a complete sweep of the series which began in April.
Richards shot 81 per cent, three better than female shooter Sue Ann Henriques, who secured third place.
Evan Grant continued his good showing at Street Gun matches, copping fourth at 68 per cent, a performance which relegated more established teammates like Thomas Jones, Ellsworth Dixon and Owen Campbell.
The Street Gun Championship forces shooters to use their regular carry-on firearms without the usual rigs which come with international competition.

Henriques' teammate at the MRPC, Owen Campbell, was a creditable fourth place ahead of internationally ranked Master Class shooter Patrick Evelyn.
Mandeville-based shooters then claimed spots six to eight. Ellsworth Dixon was sixth, Thomas Jones (seventh) and Evan Grant eighth.
