The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is suggesting that all parliamentarians release their financial records.
The suggestion by the PSOJ comes on the heels of People's National Party Member of Parliament Phillip Paulwell's release of his financial records.
In a release to the media this morning, the PSOJ in commending Paulwell said the move represents the hallmark of good governance and encourages transparency.
The group of powerful business interests also recognised the three other parliamentarians who have released their financial records – Prime Minister Andrew Holness, former Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller and People's National Party General Secretary, Julian Robinson.
The PSOJ's CEO Dennis Chung says there is no reason parliamentarians should not be required to disclose their financial records, much like the directors of companies that are listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, PSOJ President Paul Scott says persons who seek to represent and hold positions of power and authority on behalf of the people of Jamaica should always stand ready to win the trust of the people through transparency and good governance.
Scott suggests that the remaining parliamentarians follow the example of their colleagues in a bid to improve trust in the political process.
