Sharika Nelvis of the USA was the winner of a nail biting Women's 100m Hurdles at the JN Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium this evening.
She clocked 12.78 seconds to win ahead of Jamaican and World Champion Danielle Williams, who finished in second in 12.81 seconds and 2012 Olympic Champion Sally Pearson, third in 12.83 seconds.
USA's Nia Ali was fourth in 13.02 and National Champion Megan Simmonds fifth in 13.16 seconds. After the race, Williams said "I am pleased with my second place finish, as I think I am where I want to be now. NO pressure on me being the defending world champion as I think this is on the record holder."
