The Ministry of Education says it’s providing an additional $226.3 million to six schools named this week as breaching the education ministry’s no-auxiliary fee policy.
It says Holy Childhood High will get $32.3 million; Immaculate Conception High, $34.9 million; Meadowbrook High, $28.1 million; and Mona High, $29.9 million.
Meanwhile St Andrew High will receive $38.9 million; The Queen's School, $26.9 million; and St Thomas Technical $35.4 million.
The ministry says the money is in addition to their monthly subventions.
It says the funding covers areas such as tuition, furniture supplies, ICT Support, Apprenticeship Programme, the Career Advancement Programme Support, staffing, and PATH Feeding Programme in some of the schools.
The ministry says letters have been dispatched to the principals of these schools which were cited in complaints to the Education Ministry.
