School supplies for seven children went up in flames on Monday in a fire that gutted a nine-bedroom dwelling at Second Street in Trench Town, Kingston.

District Constable Samuel Bryan, who is attached to the Trench Town Fire Station, said they are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

When we got here, we were told that a man of unsound mind caught the house on fire, but based on our inspection, we didn't find any clue which supported that claim. Presently, it is undetermined," Bryan said.
