Seaforth High scored their fifth-straight win in the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup yesterday with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Morant Bay High in an exciting Zone O encounter.
Hosts Morant Bay scored twice in the first 20 minutes, but Seaforth fought back to level the scores at 2-2 going into the half-time break. Captain Evaun Walker got the winner for Seaforth with a brilliant header in the second half.
Coach of Seaforth High, Jermain Thompson, who told The Gleaner in a pre-match interview that they are on a mission to win all games in the first round, said yesterday's performance shows the character of is team.
"What we displayed is character ... . Sometimes it can be good to come from behind to see where your team is mentally. I have to commend Morant Bay for their performance. They are a team that has been rising over the years," Thompson said.
In the zone's other games, Paul Bogle High defeated St Thomas Tech 6-1 at the York Oval, and Yallahs High picked up their first points with a 2-0 victory over visitors Robert Lightbourne High.
