President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) Georgia Waugh-Richards says teachers are livid that the government has again called off a meeting to continue wage negotiations.
The parties were to meet this morning.
Waugh-Richards says the association and its members feel disrespected.
She says they are not pleased with how the negotiations are being handled by the government.

The JTA head had indicated that Minister of Finance Audley Shaw indicated in their meeting last week that he would have consultations with the Cabinet on specific items of the claim ahead of today’s meeting.
The JTA has rejected the government’s offer of six per cent over two years.
