Police personnel were among several injured in a three-vehicle collision this morning at the intersection of the Bustamante Highway and Vernamfield in Clarendon.
The crash involved a taxi, a truck and a police service vehicle.
The incident happened minutes before 10 o’clock.
A policeman who was one of the crash victims, and who did not want to be named, told our news centre that the taxi driver drove into the path of the truck.
He says the driver attempted to avoid the collision but failed and hit the truck and then crashed into the police service vehicle.
This resulted in several persons being injured, who were taken to hospital by motorists.
The policeman described the incident as frightening and said his colleagues received minor scrapes and bruises.
