Minister of National Security, Robert Montague is calling on Jamaicans to be more unified, in order to defeat the evil of crime.
Minister Montague was speaking at the Ministry of National Security's Prayer Breakfast, under the theme "Where There Is Unity, There Is Victory", yesterday on the grounds of the Ministry of National Security in Kingston.
"I challenge you to get to know your neighbour. Find out something about them that they don't want anybody else to know. That is what will bring the unity we need... unity of purpose and that which gives victory over the challenges we face as a nation," Minister Montague said.
He noted that the Ministry of National Security is being challenged in many ways and on many fronts. However, he said no matter the challenge, the ministry is ready to tackle it and the best days are ahead.
"The Ministry of National Security is ready for any challenge. We are ready and we are going to be victorious!" he said.
The prayer breakfast serves as a platform to present the 2018 vision of the Ministry of National Security and equip members from all of the Ministry's departments and agencies with the confidence and assurance they will need to tackle the security portfolio.
It was a spirit-filled event of Praise & Worship led by the Ministry of National Security Choir and prayer of intercession by Senior Director of the Offender Management Unit, Laura Plunkett.
