Montego Bay United (MBU) technical director Timothy Hankinson announced that tomorrow's game will be his last with the club after they went down 2-1 to Portmore United at WesPow Park on Sunday.

The defeat that saw the 2016 champions failing to make it to the play-offs, left Hankinson fuming with disappointment, saying the team that has been one of the most successful over the past five years lacks desire and was just not good enough.

"Very disappointed in my time here. I won't be back. This is my last run with this group. There are some great guys there who have had a great run, three championships in five years but the run is over. It will take major personnel changes, a roster overhaul to get a group like this back on track and on top," the American said.

"It is a team with talent and experience. This group probably has more collective minutes playing together as a group so, therefore, should have as much, or more know-how from their experience, but they did not apply it this year," he added.

Hankinson said it is obvious that the youngsters in the team have a long way to go before they are ready to step in and make a difference.

"Age has crept in, as it's not the same group of players as when I was here two seasons ago. Neither do we have the depth," he said. "We didn't rely on youth two years ago in (the CFU Club Championships), as there were a lot of players that were at starting level that we could turn to."
