Petersfield High's Shaquena Foote gave Jamaica it's only win in the 800 metres at the Flow Carifta Games in The Bahamas, after winning the girls under-20 event at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium on Monday.
Foote got the better of defending champion, Chrisanni May to take hold of the gold medal in 2:07.56, as May had to settle for silver with a 2:09.00 effort.
In the girls under-17 race, it was silver and bronze for Jamaica, as Cheriece Cope finished second in 2:15.96, with team-mate, Rushana Dwyer coming in third for bronze in 2:16.46.
It was also silver and bronze for Jamaica in the under-17 boys 800m, as J'Vaughn Blake took second in 1:56.64, with Giovani Henry taking third in 1:58.32.
Kimar Farquharson won the silver medal in the boys under-20 800m, after finishing second in 1:59.95.
Earlier, in an exciting contest, Kenroy Venson ran on strongly rowards the end to capture gold in the boys under-20 5000m in 15:24.57.
