The second staging of the Linstead Seafood and Jerk Festival was launched last week with food and fanfare at the Island Dream Hotel complex in Bog Walk, St Catherine.
The organisers treated those in attendance with a wide array of dishes, such as fried fish, cheese cake, fruit cake, vegetable balls, pasta, jerk chicken and jerk pork. Tamarind and papaya sauce served as perfect accompaniments to the tasty treats.
Those who turned out for the launch wasted no time in devouring the offerings while enjoying the musical musings of Crystal Ball and company. Those who did not want to eat simply kept the bar busy by consuming the wide array of alcoholic beverages that were available.
According to promoter Denise Charlton, the event is designed to keep Linstead on the seafood roster and bring exposure to the community.
"Dinthill will be the place to be on April 21, where there will an eaters' delight. There will be cooked shrimp, lobster, fish, goat, sheep, pork, plus an entertainment package,"
Charlton said. The day will end with the Miss Linstead Beauty Contest.
Committed sponsors Nextech communication, ReadiTV, M&S Restaurant and lounge encouraged patrons to support the venture.
