Foodie Fridays lived up to its decadent name last week, when A-listers and food experts gathered on the lawns of the Jamaica Pegasus, for the annual culinary showcase, Chefs on Show.
Pristine pockets of white, popped and draped against lush greenery, set the stage for a tantalising tropical oasis: the Culinary Federation of Jamaica, did not disappoint in exciting eager.
Best Dressed Chicken, stood tall as stalwarts, boasting four of the 12 chefs gearing up to compete at this year's Taste of the Caribbean competition. Other competing chefs, could be found scattered at other booths, scurrying to score everything nice with seasoning and spice.
Veterans Lorraine Fung, Jacqui Tyson and Mark Cole, had taste on full show for patrons to devour. Great House Catering, Chef Gairy Bowes and eight spices, among others, followed in savoury pursuit.
But the best bite competition winner, went to Cutting Edge Gourmet by Debe-Ann Lange-Chen, a deserving prize for her delectable offerings. Mountain Bliss 876, provided their classic and golden coffee for the masses, while Wray and Nephew tested the waters with their new spicy coffee-flavoured rum cream. Jamaica Pegasus, had the sweet section under control with their wide array of cheesecake, chocolate cakes and more. And mixologist Captain Kidd, had guests sipping in paradise with original, signature and exotic cocktails.
