THE EDITOR, Sir:
I saw on social media where some persons took issue with Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett's invitation to the 12 Thai boys rescued from a cave to visit Jamaica free of cost.
Persons who have an issue with this brought up that the Government would be wasting money or that the money should be use on the many boys suffering in Jamaica.
The offer was a humanitarian gesture. It's the right thing to do. Only narrow-minded persons can't see the bigger picture in inviting these young boys to Jamaica for free. In terms of marketing, this would be great for Jamaica.
I like Mr Bartlett because he's a man of vision and foresight. He was not awarded Tourism Minister of the Year for doing nothing.
