Eight Jamaican young people who suffer from scoliosis are benefiting from corrective surgery at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) by a medical mission by United States-based charitable organisation The Duncan Tree Foundation.
The surgeries began yesterday and will continue tomorrow.
The foundation has been assisting KPH with providing surgical intervention for adolescent scoliosis patients since 2012. Since that time, it has been donating all the instruments required to do the surgeries.
The medical mission has helped KPH to successfully treat scoliosis patients and reduce its surgery list.
For the past six years, the foundation has assisted with improving the lives at least 130 young people.
In total, the foundation has completed 20 missions to Jamaica.
