The Hertford Folk and Cultural Group has been regularly invited to perform at the annual Seville Emancipation Jubilee in St. Ann. This year, the group returned to the Seville Great House with a full complement, which still includes four foundation members.

A sustained relationship with the Jamaica Cultural Development Corporation (JCDC) keeps the group in performance, through hired performances and through the JCDC Festival Queen pageants.

"Every year, the girls interact with us and they end up wanting to be a part of us," group leader Dawn Robinson-Spence told The Gleaner. According to Robinson-Spence, the group's membership has been maintained organically, as they have never needed to host auditions or seek out new recruits.

"We as black people have to carry on the celebration, still celebrate their life," Robinson-Spence said.
