The Police High Command says it is aware of a voice note being circulated on social media claiming that motorists are being stopped by persons dressed as police personnel and travelling in an unmarked vehicle with blue flashing lights.
In a statement released today, the high command confirmed that investigations are already underway into two reports about similar incidents.
"These issues are being treated with the greatest level of importance and urgency and the investigations are ongoing," the statement said.
At the same time the Police High Command is again urging motorists not to installing or use flashing lights and or sirens on their vehicles.
"Motorists who have modified their vehicles with flashing lights and/or sirens that imitate those used by authorised emergency vehicles, such as police vehicles, ambulances and fire engines, are being warned to remove them immediately," the police warned.

"Motorists who ignore this warning to remove the devices will not only face inconvenience, but also the full brunt of the law, including the seizure of the vehicles to have them removed forthwith," the statement added.
The police are appealing to persons who may have been victims in these incidents or who may have information that can assist investigators to contact the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime division at 876-937-1389.
Persons may also share information through Crime Stop at 311, 811 or police emergency number 119.
