THE EDITOR, Sir:
The author of the Public Affairs column in The Sunday Gleaner of September 9, 2018, titled 'Security companies are modern-day slave masters', is so right in his description of the mistreatment dished out by security companies across Jamaica, especially regarding salaries, benefits, health insurance, and statutory deductions.
The labour ministry should probe the many violations occurring in the security industry.
I went to an interview at one of the top security companies and was told that they don't focus on certificates - "just take this salary and do your work".
Prime Minister Andrew Holness should look into these breaches.
