THE EDITOR, Sir:
Jamaica is on the brink of a Chinese invasion. The team from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) pointed out a very important issue concerning the investments of the Chinese government in Jamaica. I believe this matter is critical to be placed on the discussion table of our Government.
Prime Minister Holness has been giving a blind eye to this matter of extremely high levels of Chinese investment. The Chinese sneak into countries across the world on the back of costly loans. They offer their money and economic benefits to less-developed countries, all with hidden motives.
The Chinese are planting their feet in our soils. Every capital of Jamaica has more than 10 Chinese-owned businesses. They are in every industry you can think of, from food to infrastructure development.
The day our Government is unable to repay the Chinese government, they will begin to claim our lands, and create their own Chinatowns.
If our Government does a thorough observation of how much the Chinese have already infiltrated Jamaica, they will realise that there is much merit to the discussions at hand.
