The National Works Agency (NWA) is reporting that it is currently undertaking a Hot Mix Patching programme across the Corporate Area.

The programme, valued at $80 million, will target several roadways across Kingston and St Andrew.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that some 25,000 square meters of roadway are to be repaired under the programme.

The works are expected to improve traffic flow along the selected roadways.

Braemar Avenue, Musgrave Avenue, Argyle Road, Haining Road, Altamont Crescent, Collins Green Avenue, Old Hope Road, Monroe Road, Donhead Avenue and Seymour Avenue are some roadways to benefit from the works.

Shaw says that the programme, which commenced in early April, is being undertaken through the NWA’s Force Account Teams and is expected to be complete over the month.

In the meantime, a $55 million rehabilitation project is to begin shortly along Rocky Road in St Andrew.

The road, which is a by-pass to Papine, is to benefit from improved drainage features, a new base and driving surface.

Rocky Road is used by several government entities, including the Management Institute for National Development and students of the University of Technology.

It is expected that the project will be completed over the next four months and motorists are expected to obey warning signs and the instruction of flag persons while operating in the construction zone.
