A professional development workshop themed ‘Parent, Teacher Bonding – Collaborating For Success’ will be hosted on August 29 at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture & Fisheries at 4 St Lucia Avenue, Kingston.
The workshop will be led by Lorraine Hamilton, planning development coordinator and author of LorrFam Production children’s books.
According Hamilton, the workshop is designed to create, nurture, build, and foster a bond between parents and teachers for the success of the young people.
“In any relationship, you would agree that communication is the key component to fruitfulness,” Hamilton said. “As parents and teachers, we need to create an atmosphere where our children see us communicating amicably and constructively.”
She said that the theme of the workshop is based around her life’s motto – ‘The truth is bitter, but it is better.’
“So as we close one academic school year and prepare for another, let us take each constructive criticism – though they may be difficult to swallow – look for the silver lining in each, and remember, it’s for our children’s development that we must endure,” she said.
