Interim executive director of the Integrity Commission, Colonel Daniel Pryce, has indicated that the recruitment process for permanent appointments to critical posts at the agency has commenced.
“We have advertised … and we have got applications, so the process will continue from that,” Pryce told The Gleaner yesterday.
In a news release last November, the Integrity Commission said it had decided to make appointments to the four senior posts on an interim basis, during which time the full process of advertising, interviewing and selecting persons to fill the posts on a permanent basis would be conducted.
At the time, former Contractor General Dirk Harrison was assigned to act as director of the corruption prosecutions division; former secretary manager of the Corruption Prevention Commission, David Grey, was installed as acting head of the investigation division; and Joy Powell was appointed interim director of the information and complaints division.
After a year and three months in the post, Harrison indicated in an August 4 letter to Governor General Sir Patrick Allen that he would be proceeding on to retirement on September 1.
Former Court of Appeal judge, Justice Karl Harrison, who was the chairman of the commission, has also resigned.
The former director and former chairman are not related.
