The Gleaner’s 185th Anniversary Road Show rolls into Kingston at the St William Grant Park, downtown, from 11a.m. to 5.p.m. To start the fanfare, the Gleaner’s team and the Eastern Rangers Marching Band will march from The Gleaner’s head office on North Street to the St William Grant Park at 10:30 a.m.
The event promises to be an exciting affair of food and fun with dancing, prizes, lots of giveaways, and entertainment – live performances by the 2019 Rising Stars top three finalists; the first- and third-place winners of the 2019 JCDC Festival Song Competition, Raldene ‘Loaded Eagle’ Dyer and Jay Smith.
The Bahamian Hurricane Relief Concert at the Fellowship Tabernacle is a project of the Jamaica Gospel Music Network to assist persons following the disaster that struck the islands of The Bahamas. Entertainers such as George Nooks, Shalom Katalys, Joan Flemming, and Rondell Positive are billed to perform. Contribution: $1,200. All proceeds go to relief efforts in The Bahamas.
Bounty Sundays continues at Oneil’s Place, 33 Hagley Park Road. Be entertained with dynamic juggling by guest disc jockeys. Admission: $1,000 for males and $500 for females.
