Jamaica has moved up two places on the latest FIFA Coca Cola World Ranking's to 45.
The Reggae Boyz are now third in the Concacaf region after surpassing Costa Rica.
Jamaica now trails behind the United States who fell to 23 overall and region leaders Mexico, who moved up one place to 11 overall.
Canada, on the back of their shocking 2-0 win over the United States in the Concacaf Nations League, vaulted into the top six in the region and moved six places overall to 69.
Jamaica's improved ranking puts the team in good position to qualify directly for the final round of the Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers, which is to begin next year.
The new format, which was made official in July, gives the top six teams in the region based on FIFA rankings automatic passage to the hexagonal round in which three teams will automatically qualify for the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar.
The news comes after Jamaica continued their winning streak in the Concacaf Nations League with victories over Aruba at the National Stadium on October 12 2-0 and in Curacao 6-0 last week Tuesday.
Jamaica leads Group C of League B with 12 points and a healthy goal differential of +18.
The Reggae Boyz are one point away from securing promotion to League A and automatic Gold Cup qualification.
